Olive Eggers
Olive eggers are a cross/hybrid breed, created by mixing breeds together. we breed ours with attention to darkening and deepening the olive color with each generation. they will contribute 150-180 eggs a year.
Olive Eggers are a wild card as the breeds that can be used to create them are vast. We use the following breeds to create ours; Silverudd’s Blue, Legbar, Ameraucana and Black Copper Marans.
We select for character, from heavy blooms to speckles that can be white or dark brown, ours olives make a statement in the egg basket but also in the yard.
Our Olive Eggers will often be crested, barred or have feathered feet. Currently breeding to create F1 OE, F1 + F2 OE and BC1 + BC2 OE.
